Hello there, team! I’m Hoxmot.
I joined the tech industry about 10 years ago, and for the last 6 years, I’ve been working specifically as a Software Development Engineer. Having navigated different positions, levels, and tech stacks, my professional focus today revolves around building distributed systems and cloud infrastructure at a Big Tech company. Outside of my day job, I love exploring functional programming as a hobby.
I appreciate innovative technology, but I’m strictly not a fan of hype for hype’s sake. I prefer resilient architecture, terminal-first workflows, and tools that actually solve problems.
When I’m not writing code or tweaking my Neovim config, most of the time you can find me deep into video games – I’m a huge gamer at heart and they’re the reason I started working in IT right now. Though, from time to time I’m tinkering with hardware, or exploring self-hosting.
The Digital Garden
I built this blog as a digital garden – a low-pressure environment where I can tend to my ideas, dump my notes, and share my thoughts at the intersection of my hobbies and my profession. You’ll find content divided into three main areas:
- Software Development: Thoughts on coding, software, developer environment, infrastructure solutions.
- Video Games: Everything gaming related: reviews, essays, thoughts, analysis. I’m a video gamer at heart and I want to share it with others
- Tech & Gear: Hardware, self-hosting, and my homelab.

I’m always open to discussing new projects, ideas, game recommendations, or the latest tech news. You can find me on the social platforms linked in the footer. If you want to see how I work, you can check out my Dotfiles on GitHub (just a heads-up that they might be a bit outdated right now, as I’m planning to port them to a few different git hosting platforms).
